Our Cardiac specialist have recommended Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG). CABG is a surgical procedure where blood vessels from other parts of the body are used to bypass the blocked coronary arteries, improving blood flow to the heart.
During PTCA, the catheter is threaded through the blood vessels to the site of the blockage. The balloon is then inflated, compressing the plaque against the artery walls and widening the vessel.
Our multidisciplinary team can provide a comprehensive evaluation and discuss the best course of action.
Managing a patient who refuses recommended CABG and opting for PTCA instead involves careful consideration of the patient's preferences, the nature of the coronary artery disease, and collaboration among healthcare professionals to provide the most appropriate and patient-centered care.
PTCA is less invasive compared to CABG and may have a shorter recovery time. It can be performed without the need for general anesthesia.
